Hey, I’m Landria Voigt, and I never thought I’d be the kind of person to write a blog. Still can’t believe I do! But, over the years, I’ve come to be deeply passionate about nutrition as I’ve been forced to learn about it to help me through my own autoimmune disease and health issues. I’ve also taken a huge interest in what our kids eat and how it affects them on a daily basis after studying a year on how food affects our kids and also through completing my degree at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. I also work with the talented and renowned Dr. Tasneem Bhatia (Dr. Taz) at CentreSpringMD (formerly known as Atlanta Center for Holistic and Integrative Medicine) to provide seminars and help educate her patients in nutrition.
Anyway, I guess my reasoning for starting this is that it gives me an opportunity to talk about my passions, and possibly help some people in the process. Sharing what I’ve learned on health, food and nutrition with others (especially parents with young kids) is remarkably satisfying. Healthy eating is a journey for sure. Our diet is constantly evolving. It’s not about one diet or fad, it’s about what works for us and what makes us feel good and keeps us well. I want my kids to feel their best, maintain focus during school and stay motivated. I’m convinced that what they eat plays a huge role in that. I want to feel sharp whether I’m working, mountain biking or just playing with my kids. And, I know my husband is the same with his work. Why would we not want to feel the best we can, as much as we can? If someone said they had a magic bean that would give you energy, make you feel great and keep you a heck of a lot healthier, wouldn’t you want it for yourself and your family? Unfortunately, it’s not that simple…but, it’s not that hard either.
